I’m moving to Tinyletter. I am doing this for a couple of reasons. Foremost: Substack stinks. But, also, I like the ability of TinyLetter to not have a public-facing archive of my past newsletters. Twitter taught me that the ability to look at my own thoughts without considerable barriers (like, the barrier of having to walk to my storage unit to unearth old journals) is limiting. I get caught up in the past. Not to mention, this is the most vulnerable I am online. It may not seem that way, considering I mostly write about apps and the internet but these are sincerely held beliefs of mine. I want people to need to, at least, engage in the shared trust exercise of giving me their email. And, lastly, I don't trust Substack to not sell my writing to AI for parts.
If, for some reason, you wanted to have a copy of my previous emails (??) for your records (?????), I have them and will happily "reissue" any emails you may want to see.
